A Punch employee who works in the Contact Centre has hit the big screen by appearing in a training video about working in the hospitality industry.
Independent training company Charnwood Training Group asked Phil Morton, who is currently studying for a Level 3 Customer Services NVQ Diploma, to appear in its Pre-Entry to Employment (PEEPs) video due to his experience of the hospitality industry and his positive attitude.
The video is aimed at helping unemployed individuals to obtain skills, knowledge and a qualification which should help them to gain employment.
Phil Morton, who works in Telemarketing, said: "I'm really pleased that Charnwoods picked me to be in its training video. Over the past two years, I've really enjoyed working in sales and being in contact with a different part of the industry. I look forward to completing my NVQ diploma in Customer Services."
Jenny Yildiz, Training Officer at Charnwood Training Group, said: "We have a fantastic relationship with Punch and they're very supportive of our work based learning (NVQ's) within the Contact Centre as well as the BII Apprenticeship scheme with its licensees.
"One of the key areas we focus on with PEEPs is the hospitality industry so we wanted to talk to learners from a variety of backgrounds. We thought Phil would make an ideal case study as he works in an office based role compared to front of house, so it was interesting to get a different perspective."
Punch Buying Club and Central Operations Development Manager, Rachel Hope, said: "We are passionate about supporting learning and developing a high calibre team. We are delighted that Charnwood Training Group chose Phil to represent the importance of work based learning.
"The Contact Centre's training and development has come on massively with 60 NVQs completed over the past two years. We have 20 more inducted and have some great plans to ensure this continues."
Charnwood Training Group is the UK's leading training provider of apprenticeship programmes and vocational courses for the catering, hospitality and security industries.
